The best time to go to iceland depends on what you want to see

Being as far north as Iceland is,  it tends to be cold no matter what season you go in. Although it may be cold year round, each season shows a different part of Iceland that is beautiful in it's own way. 

For example, in the winter there are constant snowstorms but something about the contrast of black sand and white snow is surreal.

Summer is moist, raining often. If you can "weather" the rain (no pun intended), you'll be able to experience the longest days of the year
