A Dreamy Sailboat Elopement off the Mexican Coast
Have you ever thought about eloping in Mexico? There are plenty of cities in Mexico that can offer you amazing locations to get married but Puerto Vallarta is one of those amazing cities that offer both a culturally rich history and a beautiful natural surrounding.
Throughout the process of creating this editorial shoot, I thought about the story that I wanted to portray rather than just capturing beautiful footage and photos. Throughout the journey on the sailboat, I started to get quite sick and wasn't able to capture everything I wanted that day. Luckily, the models offered to shoot an extra day!
Through the failure of my own stomach, I was able to think more about what story I wanted to tell with a second day of shooting. The first day was focused mainly on her with a beautiful blue dress from Sumarokova Bridal. I knew that the second day, I would have more time with both models and be able to tie her "lover". Prior to this trip, we had purchased a cheap white dress from ASOS and I decided to use this during the second day of shooting to craft a story of marriage on land, and longing on the sea. In that idea came the story of Ganas de Ti. It tells a story of a young woman out to sea longing for her lover who she ran away with and got married to on a Mexican beach. It shows the emotion and feelings she had as she felt his touch, smelled his body, and felt his hands.
